Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1st October, 2026

This policy explains how jargonel.co.nz uses cookies. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which covers personal information more broadly.

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They let a site remember things between pages and visits, that you’ve dismissed a notice, for example, or which device you’re on. Some are set by us, others by services we use, like Google Maps.

What we use them for

What cookies are

Essential cookies keep the site working. They remember your device type so pages display correctly, and they carry form submissions through securely. The site can’t function properly without them, so they’re always on.

Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used, which pages people visit, how they got here, where they leave. This is aggregate information, not used to identify you.

Third-party cookies are set by services embedded in our pages. The Google Map on our Contact page sets cookies when it loads.

The cookies we use

Our own cookies are limited to what the site needs to work. Elementor, the page builder this site is built with, stores a cookie that remembers your device type so pages render correctly, and WordPress sets session cookies for anyone logged in to administer the site — neither is used to track you, and both expire when you close your browser. [Google Analytics sets cookies beginning _ga to tell one visitor from another and measure how the site is used; these last up to two years.] Google also sets its own cookies when the map on our Contact page loads, which are managed by Google rather than by us and are covered by Google’s own privacy policy.

Managing cookies

You can control cookies in your browser settings, most browsers let you block them, delete existing ones, or warn you before one is set. Instructions differ by browser; look under Settings for Privacy or Cookies.

Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of this site working. Blocking analytics or third-party cookies won’t.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics across all sites using Google’s browser add-on.

Changes to this policy

We keep enquiry records for as long as we have a reasonable business need, and for as long as required by law. Tenant records are kept for the duration of the tenancy and for [period] afterwards.
