Jargonel Properties Limited (“Jargonel”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through jargonel.co.nz, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
We only collect personal information you give us. That’s usually through an enquiry form, an email, or a phone call.
Depending on the form, this may include your name, company name, email address, phone number, the type and size of space you’re looking for, your preferred location, and anything you write in the message field. If you’re an existing tenant contacting us about your premises, it may also include your property and tenancy details.
Our website also records standard technical information automatically, including your IP address, browser type, the pages you visit and the time of your visit. This is collected by our hosting provider and analytics tools and isn’t used to identify you personally.
Why we collect it
What we collect
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, to provide leasing and property management services, to manage our relationship with you as a tenant or prospective tenant, and to keep records of enquiries so we can contact you if something suitable becomes available.
If you ask us to keep your requirements on file, we’ll hold your details so we can contact you when space matching your needs comes up. You can ask us to remove them at any time.
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t use it for marketing unless you’ve asked us to.
Who we share it with
We may share your information with:
- Our property managers and staff, where they need it to respond to you
- Leasing agents acting for us on a particular property, where your enquiry relates to it
- Professional advisers, including lawyers and accountants, where necessary
- Service providers who host our website and operate our email and form systems
We may also disclose information where we’re required or permitted to by law.
Cookies and third-party services
Our website uses cookies, small files stored by your browser, to make the site work properly and to understand how it’s used. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as expected.
We use the following third-party services, each of which has its own privacy policy:
- Google Analytics – to understand how visitors use the site
- Google Maps – to show our office location
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records for as long as we have a reasonable business need, and for as long as required by law. Tenant records are kept for the duration of the tenancy and for [period] afterwards.
Keeping it secure
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, but we take care with the information you give us.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it’s wrong. Email contact@jargonel.co.nz and we’ll respond within 20 working days.
If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your information or your request, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated.
